	Dance Riviera (Smooth Jive Dancing) is one of the friendliest social groups I've ever met. I go on a Thursday, and for the first time going somewhere on my own, I felt at ease and welcome. Everyone is so friendly and good fun. The dancing is great exercise and not so complicated that you feel you'll never pick it up. The dance tutors and coaches aren't pushy nor do they show off, they love helping you learn. I found after about 8 weeks, things started to get easier and I picked up the dance moves much quicker. I've found it a really 'safe' place to be, where I can enjoy myself without feeling stupid or on the sidelines. It's been a fantastic place for me to build up my confidence, and I would recommend it to anyone (male or female), who find themselves on their own, or in a relationship but looking for something different to do. 	Hi, my name is John and I joined Dance Riviera last March. I have really enjoyed the lessons due to the fun way Jim & Nicky teach. Everyone is made to feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble for the teachers. The dance coaches are also excellent as they encourage you and give guidance where needed. Dancing has changed my life and way of thinking. Where at one time you would never get me on the dance floor, now you can't get me off it! Dancing has given me the confidence that I never had until I started dancing. I have been to all the organised dances, which are superb and well organised. My favourite was the Valentine's Ball. I enjoyed this one the most because everyone made an effort to dress to impress and was a great lively atmosphere. 	Valentines Ball The Dance Riviera Valentines Ball was one of the best that I have ever attended. It was certainly the best organised, and by far the friendliest that I have been to. The dress theme of Red , Black & White, was an excellent idea, it was an easy theme to go along with as evidenced by the fact that everyone wore red, black, or white. The Dance with a Stranger Fun Competition was a great idea, and everyone enjoyed watching some excellent dancers. I really liked the fact that it was open to anyone who wanted to take part, without any elitism or suggestion that only the best people should compete. The idea of having workshops in the day and a ball in the evening was excellent, as you got to know strangers during the day and could spend the evening dancing with them. All of the lessons were great fun, and certainly broke the ice with people you hadn't met or danced with before. All in all an excellent day of dance, I'll certainly be along to the next one. 	Having seen Dance Riviera at the Orchard Shopping Center in Dartford in April 2004, I spoke to a really nice lady, Nicky and asked what it was all about. As I had never seen or heard of Modern Jive before, Nicky got me to dance with her husband Jim. From that moment on I was hooked. I absolutely love it. 	General Classes An evening at a Dance Riviera venue is an evening well spent. It’s the perfect place to go as a beginner or more advanced dancer. Everyone is made to feel welcome and the organisers and other people at the venues are so friendly you feel like you have known them for years. I was hooked after my first night!! Valentines Workshops The well-structured teaching of Nicky and Jim (and their Bump & Grind routine) was enough to put the smile on the hardest of faces. I was well on my way to a very enjoyable day. Then came Miguel and his Merengue - a lovely friendly teacher and I must say a pleasure to dance with - made me realise what my hips were for. Then last and certainly not least Mikey and his Latin Passion - as sinful as ever! A very well organised day with a great bunch of people who I now like to know as friends. Thank you.
